Rick Kennington
Rick was born and raised in Utah. While growing up, he spent much time outdoors and on his grandfather’s ranch in Wyoming. Growing up he acquired a particular love for horses and the western landscape. Many of his paintings are inspired by his surroundings and deep ranching roots. His artistic technique varies from a loose impressionistic style with rich colors to one that depicts fine detail.
Rick received an college art scholarship where he began pursuing his interest in oil painting. Eventually, he began studying Fine Art at the University of Utah.
This is where he developed a deep appreciation for all kinds of art. Rick has been painting for over 20-years and had the opportunity to study under and be personally tutored by Cowboy Artists of America, Jason Rich, Grant Redden, and Chad Poppleton. Subsequently, Rick has spent ample amounts of time at the easel honing in his skills and techniques. Ricks work is shown in multiple fine art galleries in Montana and Wyoming. Rick hopes his work will bring much joy to those who view it and to create an emotion that connects with people, places, and time.
Rick, his wife, and four sons currently reside in Utah.
